What is a Preferred Customer?
A Preferred Customer is one that can purchase products from USANA at wholesale price and have the order shipped directly to his door. Being a Preferred Customer is free and there are no minimum purchase requirements. This is not like an Associate because a Preferred Customer can only purchase products and does not own a business, as an Associate does.

What is an Associate?
An Associate is one that owns his own independent business with USANA. An Associate can purchase products at wholesale prices (like a Preferred Customer) and gets paid on points earned from his own purchases, other Associate's purchases, and Preferred Customer's purchases that are placed under him. Being an Associate is a very profitable and lucrative business that anyone can do -- and doesn't require you to maintain an inventory or even sell the products, if you choose not to do so.
USANA is not a new "fly by night" company, but yet it is a very stable, profitable, and publicly traded company. It has been in business over 15 years, since 1992. Timing couldn't be better to become an Associate and to let our team begin helping you build your own business.

How does an Associate get paid, and how often?
USANA pays you weekly, every Friday, according to the points you earn from Associates and Preferred Customers that are under you (your business center). If you don't earn enough points to get paid for a particular week, your points will carry over to the next week. View the Compensation Plan to get all the details about becoming an Associate and to get an explanation of how points earned by other Associates and Preferred Customers pays you. USANA's Health & Freedom newspaper (on page 15) also contains information about the pay plan.

What are the requirements to become an Associate?
The only required purchase to become an Associate is a Business Development System (BDS). You have a choice of purchasing the electronic version (e-BDS) for $19.95 or the hard copy version for $49.95. This is your starter kit / instruction manual on how to operate your business.
After purchasing your BDS or e-BDS, you will own a business center with USANA and can make purchases at wholesale price, if you choose. To begin earning money on your business center, you need to accumulate (a one time purchase or accumulated over time) a total of 150 points of USANA products.
As you can see from the compensation plan mentioned above, you have the option of doubling your potential income by purchasing 3 business centers, instead of 1. There is a 450 point minimum purchase required to earn 3 business centers. If you purchase only 1 business center, you may still upgrade to 3 business centers, but have only have 6 Fridays from your initial sign up date to purchase additional products to make up the 450 points in personal sales volume.
If you choose to go with 3 business centers, USANA has developed three enrollment packs that will give you enough points to earn them and it also offers a better deal than if each product was purchased separately. When you enroll, you will be given the option to choose one of these packs, or you may simply choose your own products to obtain your minimum points.

What is required to keep my business center(s) active and to continue earning money?
If you simply want to make purchases for yourself at the wholesale price, it it not required to keep your business center(s) active. You sitll always maintain your business center position and new associates signing up from this web site will continue to be placed under you. However, to keep 1 business center active, you must maintain 100 points of personal sales volume every 4 weeks (i.e. a Healthpak 100, or any products of your choice). This is products that are purchased by you, not other Associates. To keep 3 or more business centers active, a personal sales volume of 200 points is required every 4 weeks. Until this requirement is met, your business center(s) will be inactive and you will lose any points and carry over points you had earned and not receive an income.

What is autoship? Is it required?
The best way for Associates to maintain their 100 points every 4 weeks (or 200 points for 3 or more business centers) is to use autoship. Autoship is not required, but it gives you an extra 10% off the wholesale price and is an excellent tool to use that will keep your order coming to you every 4 weeks and will always keep your business centers(s) active so that you never forget to place your order. The Healthpak 100, which is worth 100 points, is a common product autoshipped by Associates. Two Healthpak 100's are worth 200 points.
Once you are on autoship, all purchases by you will receive the 10% off wholesale discount -- even the purchases you make that are separate from your autoship order.

What are the wholesale prices and how many points is each product worth?
The Associate Price List shows all of the products with retail prices, wholesale prices, autoship prices (10% off wholesale), and the points each product is worth.
